Double tube heat exchanger is a type of tubular type heat exchanger. Double tube heat exchanger is a concentric tube connected by two standard different sizes tubes . The outer tube is called shell side, and the inner tube side is called tube side. Two different media can flow (or be in the same direction) in the shell side and tube side to achieve the effect of heat transfer.

Double tubular heat exchanger is composed of concentric inner tube and outer tube. The hot and cold fluid flows in the gap between the inner tube and the casing respectively and exchanges heat at the same time. The inner tube is connected in series with U-shaped tube, and the sleeve is connected with straight tube at both ends.
